Renan Sanches's late challenge caught a Acuria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renan Sanches helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Acuria FC booed when Real Santos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renan Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doriva Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabiano Prado got in the 16th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Célio Mattos handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Real Santos's Washington Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernão Toledo in the 26th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Acuria FC's zone, Fabiano Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Mattos came out of the goal and Fabiano Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35thth minute of the game Benê Alagoano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Santos's Washington Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Acuria FC's Cido Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Washington Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernão Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabiano Prado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Real Santos's Washington Lima got control of the ball when Basílio Fantini tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Fabiano Prado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acuria FC's Célio Mattos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Célio Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabiano Prado's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Fantini got free with Washington Lima in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernão Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Washington Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Fabiano Prado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiano Prado during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 91 played minutes Real Santos got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Prado. Real Santos's Washington Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Real Santos from getting a goal against them. After 99 minutes, Benê Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acuria FC and the Real Santos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabiano Prado in the 102nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Célio Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Acuria FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Acuria FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
