Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dário Recife made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 6thth minute of the game Dário Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catingas's Vítor Marquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernão Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernão Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Maurinho Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim Bueno's late challenge caught a Catingas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamim Bueno helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Benjamim Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernão Valadares took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hermínio de Lara. Hermínio de Lara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Dário Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Marquez was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute Benjamim Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Oséias Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Xorroxo's Benjamim Bueno got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Cássio Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermínio de Lara skillfully saved the ball. When Oséias Neves came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Catingas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oséias Neves couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fernão Valadares made the kick off in the second half. Vítor Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani de Godoi in the 52nd minute of play. Vítor Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Hermínio de Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernão Valadares's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Geovani de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vítor Marquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Vítor Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovani de Godoi in the 67th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the game, Geovani de Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Vítor Marquez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aírton Mattos struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Vítor Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xorroxo. In the 80th match minute, Xorroxo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Mattos to maneuver through the defense. Oséias Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Hermínio de Lara made a huge save. Geovani de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernão Valadares in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermínio de Lara saved Xorroxo from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Catingas's Oséias Neves got a free kick in the 88th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Catingas's zone, Dário Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Marquez came out of the goal and Dário Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geovani de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
