With a little luck, Diplomata FC's Przemyslaw Siekierski got control of the ball when Doni Severo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcelo Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Pereira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Diplomata FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Marcelo Pereira hit a great ball. C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ's Teodoro Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Castro in the 11th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Castro in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodoro Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 31 minutes, Raúl Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Waldemar Castro put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Teodoro Carioca. After a rather tough play, Diplomata FC's Marcelo Pereira got a free kick in the 37th minute. Teodoro Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Prata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Waldemar Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabio Kalifons was the one to do the kick off. Oswaldo Alcântara hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Raúl Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Prata in the 61st minute of the match. If Fabio Kalifons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Waldemar Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ's Teodoro Carioca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Przemyslaw Siekierski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doni Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Teodoro Carioca made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Waldemar Castro sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waldemar Castro got free with Teodoro Carioca in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raúl Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Przemyslaw Siekierski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oswaldo Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Przemyslaw Siekierski having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Teodoro Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabio Kalifons. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabio Kalifons kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teodoro Carioca. That made the score 0-2 in the 84 minute of play. Fabio Kalifons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd match minute, C.A. Itajaí - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Chaves to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Kalifons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Carioca having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Diplomata FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
