Luisinho Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ademir Arantes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Nando Prado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ademir Arantes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

Guanumbi's José Paulo Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Guanumbi from getting a goal against them. José Paulo Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Catarinense in the 91st minute of the match. Luisinho Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute Luiz Guilherme Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademir Arantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes of play Trombuca EC's Arthur Lira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
