After 30 minutes of play, Bonfim EC's Chicão de Moraes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Augusto Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Bonfim EC's zone, Ronaldinho Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliézer Saldanha came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliézer Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Chicão de Moraes succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Eliézer Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Chicão de Moraes made the kick off in the second half. Eliézer Saldanha came out of the goal and Egídio Gaúcho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egídio Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Eliézer Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schmidtinho. Egídio Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliézer Saldanha having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Egídio Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliézer Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Clóvis Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79thth minute of the game Egídio Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bonfim EC's Eliézer Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
