Valente's Carlos Alberto Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ediberto Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Sabino Romero in the 40th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Valente's Juan Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Valente from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto Medeiros to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Itas's goalkeeper Thiago dos Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ediberto Sena. Juan Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Matorin in the 79th minute of the match. Kaká Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
