The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ismael Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jano Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Pimenta got free with Marcel Negri in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Abadiania SS getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Nildo Cerezo hit a great ball. Paulão Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. In the 33rd minute Nildo Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Negri made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Frederico Pimenta sent off a good shot on target. Alfredinho Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro Queirós having to interfere. A collision led to Siriu getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cacá Azevedo hit a great ball. The Siriu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Abadiania SS were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jano Sabóia to strike the kick off in the second half.
