Mazinho Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Faria having to interfere. Zeca Urbano might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Francisco Faria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zeca Urbano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute, Mazinho Loureiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Scotland Yard defense, Cássio Breckenfeld kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Francisco Faria. The Scotland Yard fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Francisco Faria should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Scotland Yard's goalkeeper João Francisco Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeca Urbano. Dudu Prado might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edvaldo Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dudu Prado ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the match, Scotland Yard's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Loureiro came free, but João Francisco Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Scotland Yard booed when Arandu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute Jefferson Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mazinho Loureiro made a kick off. Edvaldo Bueno made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Dudu Prado sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute, Dudu Prado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Scotland Yard fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Dudu Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scotland Yard's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edvaldo Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edvaldo Bueno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Jefferson Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jefferson Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvaldo Bueno was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Arandu's zone, Dudu Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvaldo Bueno came out of the goal and Dudu Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zeca Urbano took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Francisco Faria. João Francisco Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jefferson Branco in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvaldo Bueno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Arandu had won after a very even match.
