Christian Ieltxu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gonçalo Aguiar having to make a save. 12 minutes into the match, Pereira AD's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto de Souza came free, but Cléberson Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nestor Bertassi came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Pereira AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Bertassi couldn't finish the play. Christian Ieltxu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Pereira AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 20 minutes, Diego Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pereira AD and the Labirinto players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Labirinto booed when Pereira AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonçalo Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Ieltxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the game, Nestor Bertassi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gonçalo Aguiar. Nestor Bertassi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Gonçalo Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Nestor Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. Neal Wells could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Gonçalo Aguiar made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Bertassi got free with Gonçalo Aguiar in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 38 played minutes Labirinto got a freekick which was hit by Rui Garcia. In the 41st minute, Donato Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonçalo Aguiar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 41st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Raphael Alvarenga. When Sílvio de Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pereira AD's protests and gave Sílvio de Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Breno Mesquita to make the kick off. Gonçalo Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Ieltxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Paulo Viana got free with Cléberson Proença in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Breno Mesquita's late challenge caught a Pereira AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breno Mesquita helped the player get up and apologised. Nestor Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Gonçalo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Labirinto's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Ieltxu came free, but Gonçalo Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
