Celsinho Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Tasso having to interfere. After having played for 21 minutes, Elias de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Careiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kléber Machado fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brecha EC's protests and gave Kléber Machado a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brecha EC! When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Careiro's Luiz Fernando Lira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sílvio Luís Tasso. Brecha EC's Sílvio Luís Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Brecha EC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Paraibano in the 35th minute of play forced Careiro's goalkeeper Celsinho Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelson Furtado's late challenge caught a Brecha EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson Furtado helped the player get up and apologised. Nelson Furtado hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. When Elias de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Careiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias de Toledo couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute of the match, Joel Figueiredo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sílvio Luís Tasso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

After a rather tough play, Careiro's Nelson Furtado got a free kick in the 50th minute. Joel Figueiredo scored 3-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Luís Tasso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute of the match Benedito Novaes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Luís Tasso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Careiro's Gabriel Vaz got a free kick in the 57th minute. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Joel Figueiredo put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sílvio Luís Tasso. Careiro's Dinei Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Joel Figueiredo made a precise shot to the right of Sílvio Luís Tasso. Brecha EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Sílvio Luís Tasso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Figueiredo's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Sílvio Luís Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinei Quintal in the 73rd minute of the match. Celsinho Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conrado Catarinense in the 77th minute. Sílvio Luís Tasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nelsinho Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedito Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute of the match Leonardo Fantini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Amaral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Careiro's Celsinho Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Paraibano in the 94th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Careiro fully deserved thier win.
