Spectators: 6457 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Aloísio Bueno got the match started through his kick off. Lauro Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the game, Lauro Guimarães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Oséias Messias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luverdense Esporte Clube's Oséias Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Alves in the 16th minute of play. After some careless play in the Luverdense Esporte Clube defense, Lauro Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oséias Messias. The Luverdense Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oséias Messias should have stopped the shot. Luverdense Esporte Clube's Aloísio Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oséias Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Vander in the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ternura's zone, Aloísio Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Monteiro came out of the goal and Aloísio Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ternura's Lauro Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute Alex Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséias Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lauro Guimarães scored 0-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oséias Messias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 42 played minutes Luverdense Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Zé dos Santos. Claudinei Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Trigo in the 45th minute. Marcelo Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Vander made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Bueno in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinei Monteiro saved Ternura from getting behind. Oséias Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The long shot by Wilian Perez in the 56th minute really tested Oséias Messias's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Luverdense Esporte Clube's zone, Alex Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséias Messias came out of the goal and Alex Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the match, Ternura's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Ortiz came free, but Claudinei Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Bueno in the 61st minute of the match. Aloísio Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oséias Messias was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Alex Vander capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alex Vander really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Zé dos Santos hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Luverdense Esporte Clube's Zé dos Santos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Belchior Branco hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Ternura's Lauro Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Luverdense Esporte Clube booed when Ternura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th match minute, Ternura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lauro Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. After 92 minutes of play, Luverdense Esporte Clube's Aloísio Bueno made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Monteiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aloísio Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Monteiro having to interfere. The Ternura supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ternura would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
