In the 7th minute of the match, Narciso de Castro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dênis Veiga saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 9 minutes into the match, Marumbe SC's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso de Castro came free, but Dênis Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Dé Teles in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Barcelar's Claudinei Fernandes. In the 12th minute Claudinei Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tróia charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Tróia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Barcelar booed when Marumbe SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes Barcelar got a freekick which was hit by Alexsandro França. After 17 played minutes, Marumbe SC's Régis de Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gregorio Theodore came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marumbe SC reached it. Barcelar's Gregorio Theodore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tróia in the 21st minute of play. Dênis Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olívio Ramalho in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Marumbe SC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Adhemar Severo hit a great ball. Dênis Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Alberto Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregorio Theodore was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Dênis Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso de Castro in the 36th minute of the match. Olívio Ramalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Dênis Veiga made a huge save. Gregorio Theodore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tróia in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Tróia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Raimundo Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dênis Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th match minute, Marumbe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. If Olívio Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marumbe SC's Dênis Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Ramalho in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Narciso de Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dênis Veiga. Marumbe SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso de Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Dênis Veiga came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelar's Túlio Gerber. But to his dismay, Túlio Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 66th match minute, Marumbe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Dênis Veiga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edu Saldanha went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Dênis Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Ramalho in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Marumbe SC booed when Barcelar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute, Narciso de Castro made a precise shot to the right of Dênis Veiga. Marumbe SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Dênis Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Moreno in the 89th minute of the match. A collision led to Barcelar getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Edu Saldanha hit a great ball. Alberto Tróia in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gregorio Theodore, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
