The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adriano Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Valério Fantini made a huge save. Ronaldão Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jânio Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8thth minute of the game Murilo Favoretto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curimata SS's Jânio Neves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valério Fantini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Arata EC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. José Paulo Lopez hit a great ball. Ronaldão Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Neves having to interfere. Valério Fantini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adriano Velasco in the 18th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Arata EC's Murilo Favoretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jânio Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eusébio França charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eusébio França hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Murilo Favoretto might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jânio Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo Favoretto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th match minute, Curimata SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Murilo Favoretto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arata EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 45th minute of the match Faustão Donato shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jânio Neves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Murilo Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ronaldão Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 53rd minute Murilo Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jânio Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 minutes, Percival Marquez made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Arata EC's Valério Fantini tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Fabiano de Amorim's late challenge caught a Curimata SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fabiano de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Curimata SS booed when Arata EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jânio Neves made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Ronaldão Prado sent off a good shot on target. After 74 played minutes, Arata EC's José Paulo Lopez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jânio Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arata EC reached it. 80 minutes into the game, Murilo Favoretto lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Jânio Neves. The supporters of Curimata SS booed when Arata EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Curimata SS defense, Ronaldão Prado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jânio Neves. The Curimata SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jânio Neves should have stopped the shot. Arata EC played a much better game than Curimata SS and deserved their victory. The Curimata SS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
