The supporters of Chapecoense booed when Arassuai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Didi Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arassuai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chapecoense the free kick. Didi Fontes hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Chapecoense's Jefferson Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Fontes in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match, Teodoro Velasco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jefferson Freitas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 26th minute Elói Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Cabral in the 27th minute of play forced Arassuai's goalkeeper Pedro de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Elói Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elói Cabral in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro de Sena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felippe Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elói Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Teodoro Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jefferson Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Cabral got free with Pedro de Sena in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the match, Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Velasco came free, but Jefferson Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jefferson Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Velasco in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Cabral in the 64th minute of play forced Arassuai's goalkeeper Pedro de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro de Sena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Didi Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th match minute, Arassuai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gláuber Leal to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Fontes came free, but Jefferson Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Elói Cabral put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro de Sena. Pedro de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belchior Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 93 played minutes Arassuai got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Lima. Pedro de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chapecoense played a much better game than Arassuai and deserved their victory. The Arassuai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
