The referee ignored Parecy AD's protests and gave Rodriguinho de Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Parecy AD! The referee gave EC Mogiana a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. Digo Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cássio Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Digo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, EC Mogiana's Edvaldo de Amaral got a free kick in the 21st minute. The audience was convinced that Gilvan Passos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cássio Maranhense was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. If Digo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Parecy AD defense, Digo Penha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio Maranhense. The Parecy AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio Maranhense should have stopped the shot. Pedrinho França made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Alan Trevisan sent off a good shot on target. After the first half EC Mogiana were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Digo Penha made the kick off in the second half. Gilvan Passos scored 0-3 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cássio Maranhense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilvan Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Cássio Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Gilvan Passos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 73rd minute Jarbas Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Diniz hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When Parecy AD's Alan Trevisan in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye EC Mogiana's goalie prevented a goal. João Francisco Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee ignored EC Mogiana's protests and gave Américo Alves a yellow card for diving instead. Pedrinho França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
