The referee ignored Tapiara's protests and gave Kléber Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Tapiara got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Carvalho. With a little luck, Tapiara's Frédson Maciel got control of the ball when Dênis Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Dênis Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Maciel having to interfere. If Silas Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Gualter de Medeiros notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Camacu EC's Cristiano Siqueira. Cristiano Siqueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frédson Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Tepedino in the 24th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Camacu EC got a freekick which was hit by Márcio de Sousa. After a defensive mix-up in Tapiara's zone, Dênis Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Maciel came out of the goal and Dênis Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dênis Mendess short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Frédson Maciel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dênis Mendes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Frédson Maciel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cristiano Siqueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualter de Medeiros in the 54th minute. The supporters of Tapiara booed when Camacu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tapiara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valdemar Marinho in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Tapiara's Ricardo de Souza got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute Silas Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silas Tepedino struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Frédson Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camacu EC. Camacu EC's Genílson Paulista suffered a sore thigh after 61 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 61 minutes, Enio da Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tapiara and the Camacu EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Enio da Fonseca hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Camacu EC's Dênis Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dênis Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Frédson Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Gualter de Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Siqueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualter de Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. Chants of Tapiara echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Camacu EC had held the ball for most of the match.
