When Rubinho Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting D.'s protests and gave Rubinho Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sporting D. getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Rubinho Trancoso hit a great ball. If José Augusto Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto Bittencourt in the 70th minute of play. Reynaldo Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Valdir Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Goiano having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, João Vítor Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot.
