Alessandro Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Linhares having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Trucu fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Veloso in the 23rd minute of play forced Trucu's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Fernando Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléberson Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Jailson Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ium fans jumped to their feet. Leonardo Dracena's late challenge caught a Trucu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ium's Leonardo Dracena got a free kick in the 47th minute. The Trucu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ium were winning 0-2.

The supporters of Ium booed when Trucu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ium's Alessandro Cunha in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trucu's goalie prevented a goal. When Perivaldo Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trucu's protests and gave Perivaldo Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. Perivaldo Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Ium's Amauri Britto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Trucu. In the 75th match minute, Ium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Veloso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Veloso got free with Carlos Fernando Linhares in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sidnei Pitta hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Cunha in the 91st minute of play forced Trucu's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jailson Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perivaldo Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the match was over Ium could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Trucu throughout the match.
