The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Durvalino Mendonça's late challenge caught a Realmatismo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durvalino Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. Durvalino Mendonça hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Enéas Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonsinho Martins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enéas Linares went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Romeu SS's Afonsinho Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Rodrigues in the 36th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Lúcio Rodrigues notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Romeu SS's Afonsinho Martins. Afonsinho Martins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Enéas Linares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonsinho Martins having to make a save. Romeu SS's Afonsinho Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Rodrigues in the 48th minute of play. The Romeu SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Realmatismo were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anderson Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Enéas Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonsinho Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Realmatismo. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Delfim Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Realmatismo's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonsinho Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lúcio Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonsinho Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Leão in the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Romeu SS's zone, Enéas Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Martins came out of the goal and Enéas Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lúcio Rodrigues got free with Afonsinho Martins in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Realmatismo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
