Hortêncio Moreira came out of the goal and Tomás Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomás Barbosa made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Calisto SS got a freekick which was hit by Dino Bueno. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Tomás Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Teresina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Souza got free with Oséias Paraibano in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oséias Paraibano was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Otávio de Azevedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Otávio de Azevedo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The audience was convinced that Tomás Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hortêncio Moreira was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Hélio Pernambucano lost his temper 67 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Souza in the 80th minute of play forced Teresina FC's goalkeeper Oséias Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Eloy Jakobe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Hortêncio Moreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute, Gerardo Frances got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 97 minutes, Eloy Jakobe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teresina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Jakobe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calisto SS were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Teresina FC's much stronger midfield.
