After a rather tough play, Pirapitinga SC's Laerte das Neves got a free kick in the 15th minute. Nilton Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Faria in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Pirapitinga SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Eger to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wilson Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nilton Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilton Maia made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Wilson Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the game, José Pedro Faria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nilton Maia. José Pedro Faria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirapitinga SC's goalkeeper Nilton Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, José Pedro Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Domingos AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Pedro Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Alfredinho Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Tarcisio Teles's late challenge caught a Domingos AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tarcisio Teles helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, one of Pirapitinga SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pirapitinga SC. Wilson Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilton Maia having to make a save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pirapitinga SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Domingos AD.
