Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sabino Matos got the match started through his kick off. Costas's Sandro Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Costas from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the match, Pepital's goal looked a bit too open when Sabino Matos came free, but Manfredo Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriano Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Sabino Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costas's supporters rose to their feet, but Sabino Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Paulista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Pepital's Noel Ceresso got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 20th minute of the match João Adolfo Barros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manfredo Paulista skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Adriano Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costas's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Paulista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Pepital's Zézinho Sena got a free kick in the 27th minute. Raphael Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Marques having to interfere. With a little luck, Costas's Sandro Marques got control of the ball when Raphael Sergipano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Raphael Sergipano could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Sandro Marques however easily saved by the left post. In the 43rd minute Erasmo Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Erasmo Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erasmo Quirino was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raphael Sergipano during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raphael Sergipano hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pepital's zone, Adriano Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo Paulista came out of the goal and Adriano Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Raphael Sergipano came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Pepital fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Sergipano couldn't finish the play. In the 67thth minute of the game Raphael Sergipano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costas's Sandro Marques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Matos in the 68th minute of play forced Pepital's goalkeeper Manfredo Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Erasmo Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandro Marques came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Pepital's Erasmo Quirino. But to his dismay, Erasmo Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 82nd minute Erasmo Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 minutes, Léo Loyola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pepital and the Costas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Léo Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Zézinho Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Costas's João Adolfo Barros broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th minute Sabino Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raphael Sergipano in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandro Marques saved Costas from getting behind. In the 92nd minute, Raphael Sergipano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raphael Sergipano struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Sandro Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pepital. After some careless play in the Pepital defense, Adriano Teles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manfredo Paulista. The Pepital fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manfredo Paulista should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pepital had won after a very even match.
