Spectators: 6654 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gilvan Medeiros kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Contracto's zone, Aníbal Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Cosme came out of the goal and Aníbal Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dênis Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Medeiros in the 7th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Gernando Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute Gilvan Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilvan Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Dênis Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dênis Cosme came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint FC's Gilvan Medeiros. But to his dismay, Gilvan Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Salgado in the 22nd minute of play forced Contracto's goalkeeper Dênis Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dênis Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Aníbal Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aníbal Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dênis Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Arlindo Salgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dênis Cosme was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dênis Cosme was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. 43 minutes into the game, Gilvan Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Dênis Cosme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Diego de Azevedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noel Brodel came out and tried to block the shot, but Diego de Azevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 49th minute. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego de Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Saint FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Trigo to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th match minute, Saint FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Salgado to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Contracto's Dênis Cosme got control of the ball when Aníbal Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Aníbal Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Gilvan Medeiros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dênis Cosme. That made the score 1-5 in the 73 minute of play. In the 77th minute, Gilvan Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saint FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Aníbal Couto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Saint FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Contracto's Dênis Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Medeiros in the 86th minute of play. Gilvan Medeiros hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Dênis Cosme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aníbal Couto in the 98th minute. The Saint FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saint FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
