Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manolo Favoretto in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião de Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Robinho Porto charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robinho Porto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, San Marino Associação's Robinho Porto got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind San Marino Associação's goalkeeper Sebastião de Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the game, Manolo Favoretto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sebastião de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manolo Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sebastião de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião de Brito came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Manolo Favoretto. But to his dismay, Manolo Favoretto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Moraes in the 44th minute of play forced San Marino Associação's goalkeeper Sebastião de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Marino Associação's goalkeeper Sebastião de Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Palmeiras fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Palmeiras's Manolo Favoretto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Palmeiras's Kléber Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Raphael Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes of play, Palmeiras's Manolo Favoretto made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião de Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, San Marino Associação's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Moraes came free, but Sebastião de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. San Marino Associação's Sebastião de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Favoretto in the 69th minute of play. Sebastião de Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manolo Favoretto's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the match, San Marino Associação's goal looked a bit too open when Manolo Favoretto came free, but Sebastião de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute Nicolas Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Palmeiras's Manolo Favoretto in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Marino Associação's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to San Marino Associação getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Robinho Porto hit a great ball. When the match was over Palmeiras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than San Marino Associação throughout the match.
