Osvaldo Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Mazinho Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Celsinho Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Cordilheira's Hélio Maciel got a free kick in the 75th minute. Cordilheira's Osvaldo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Valadares in the 84th minute of play. Naldo Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Mendonça having to interfere. In the 88th minute Guga Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Valadares in the 95th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
