Itanhum SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeu Coutinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee ignored Cláudio Tadeu FC's protests and gave Renato Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. If Geraldo Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Coutinho came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Itanhum SC's Abelardo Perez. But to his dismay, Abelardo Perez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When the referee ended the match the Itanhum SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
