The coaching staff of Jequiazinho FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wiliam Breckenfeld had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 15th minute, one of Jequiazinho FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jequiazinho FC. Ulysses Nogueira's late challenge caught a Tortinho SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulysses Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Jequiazinho FC got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Nogueira. Jequiazinho FC's Arlindo Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Oliveira in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th play minute Armindo Rosado came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Arlindo Severo. 2-0. If Armindo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Jequiazinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Tortinho SC's Zacarias da Silva tried to score from far away in the 32nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vitinho Oliveira scored 3-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arlindo Severo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Vitinho Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tortinho SC's Vitinho Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armindo Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute Vitinho Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Oliveira in the 46th minute of play forced Jequiazinho FC's goalkeeper Arlindo Severo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
