But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Gabriel Machado couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Gremio's Kauã Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Angelo Linares. That made the score 1-3 after 90 minutes of play. The Airao SS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gremio's performance. The match ended with a win for Gremio.
