Edvaldo Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Edvaldo Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Donato in the 14th minute of play. Nestor Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalmo Gaúcho's late challenge caught a Cariri EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmo Gaúcho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Aldeia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmo Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Nestor Donato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilton Simão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Hílton Vieira made a huge save. Edvaldo Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Cariri EC's Nestor Donato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edvaldo Massa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32nd match minute, Cariri EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Urbano to maneuver through the defense. If Nestor Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Edvaldo Massa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Freire went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Washington Esteves was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Aldeia FC's goalkeeper Edvaldo Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Freire. Nestor Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Edvaldo Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilton Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hílton Vieira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Cláudio Corrêa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edvaldo Massa. The goal made the score 0-3. In the 68th minute of the match, Nestor Donato tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edvaldo Massa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 68th minute, Alfredão Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cariri EC's Nestor Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edvaldo Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Edvaldo Massa made a huge save. In the 82nd minute Nilton Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nestor Donato in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo Massa saved Aldeia FC from getting behind. David Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Massa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Donato in the 93rd minute of play forced Aldeia FC's goalkeeper Edvaldo Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgílio de Sousa hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the match was over Cariri EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Aldeia FC throughout the match.
