When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Laércio Torres put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Magno Britto. Magno Britto came out of the goal and Arsene Delcroix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laércio Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Magno Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Tomé Meirelles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Humildes Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. The attack was good, but when Tomé Meirelles in the 86th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Laércio Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Britto having to interfere.
