The crowd rose to their feet as S.c.Indaiatuba's Sandro Fernandez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Genílson Fernandez. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Daniel Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.c.Indaiatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genílson Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th match minute, Tambaqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Seco to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Nascimento went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Fernando Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Seco in the 24th minute of play forced S.c.Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Fernando Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tambaqui were furious when Marquinhos Munhoz was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marquinhos Munhoz hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Tambaqui's goalkeeper Genílson Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Massa. In the 40th minute Mané Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genílson Fernandez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Neto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 43 minute of play. Genílson Fernandez went to the wrong direction when Gernando Macedo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Neto to make the kick off. Mané Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Neto in the 64th minute of play forced Tambaqui's goalkeeper Genílson Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Fernandez struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Genílson Fernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.c.Indaiatuba. Tambaqui's Genílson Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Fernandez in the 70th minute of play. Genílson Fernandez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Neto's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tambaqui's zone, Daniel Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Fernandez came out of the goal and Daniel Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Americo Hunfredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.c.Indaiatuba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Genílson Fernandez came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by S.c.Indaiatuba's Daniel Neto. But to his dismay, Daniel Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Neto in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genílson Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mané Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Fernando Taffarel made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Tambaqui's zone, Daniel Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Fernandez came out of the goal and Daniel Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When S.c.Indaiatuba's Daniel Neto in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tambaqui's goalie prevented a goal. In the 96th minute, Sandro Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.c.Indaiatuba fully deserved thier win.
