The corner ended in Wágner Melo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but mengão's Ediberto Linhares did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Alvarenga in the 13th minute of play forced mengão's goalkeeper Ediberto Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th match minute, mengão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Goiano to maneuver through the defense.
