Joel Proença could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Artur Figueiredo made a huge save. In the 21st minute, Joel Proença left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maneco SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luisinho Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Artur Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maneco SS. Joel Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artur Figueiredo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Proença ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute Mazinho Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donato Albuquerque hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Ismael Gerber made a precise shot to the right of Leonel Loureiro. Maneco SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. If Ismael Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Maneco SS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Clóvis Silveira hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Mazinho Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipiranga's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Loureiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maneco SS's goalkeeper Leonel Loureiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Artur Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Ribeiro in the 96th minute of the match.
