A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Vinhas in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Quirino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th minute, Rubens Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Mugiqui SC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alexandre Vinhas hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Pedrão Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luiz Gustavo Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 minutes, Edson Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caioca and the Mugiqui SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Caioca getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Edson Couto hit a great ball. Donato Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Vinhas in the 46th minute of play. Pedrão Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy de Amorim having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Dias to strike the kick off in the second half. Maurício Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Mugiqui SC's goalkeeper Percy de Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedrão Gaúcho. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Pedrão Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caioca's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrão Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy de Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute Marco Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Caioca's zone, Luiz Gustavo Paulista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Quirino came out of the goal and Luiz Gustavo Paulista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donato Quirino came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Mugiqui SC's Alexandre Vinhas. But to his dismay, Alexandre Vinhas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Marco Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Percy de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Gustavo Paulista scored 5-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato Quirino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caioca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
