The referee gave Caceres a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nilson Tróia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gondolin Noldor F.C.'s Ricardo da Fonseca. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Beto Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gondolin Noldor F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Beto Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Renato Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Pedro Viana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Renato Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Oliveira in the 19th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beto Travassos in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Renato Trigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raí Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ricardo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gondolin Noldor F.C.'s Severino Toledo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Edgar Lira, made in the 27th minute of the game. Ricardo da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Gondolin Noldor F.C.'s Beto Travassos, in the 33rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Gondolin Noldor F.C.. The audience was convinced that Germano Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Renato Trigo was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Beto Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Renato Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Oliveira in the 40th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germano Oliveira in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Renato Trigo saved Caceres from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Zé Pedro Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Renato Trigo having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Caceres got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Dantas. Paulo Renato Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Toledo in the 59th minute of play. Oséias Novaes hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. A collision led to Caceres getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ramón de Toledo hit a great ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Germano Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caceres's Paulo Renato Trigo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Zé Pedro Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gondolin Noldor F.C. booed when Caceres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gondolin Noldor F.C.'s Severino Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Pedro Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Paulo Renato Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvinho Meira got free with Ricardo da Fonseca in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caceres's Silvinho Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute of the match Agenor Rosado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Renato Trigo skillfully saved the ball. Oséias Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Germano Oliveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Renato Trigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Caceres had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
