With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Falcão in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josué Castro saved Pojuquinhos from getting behind. The supporters of El Melhor booed when Pojuquinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Augusto Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 minutes of play, El Melhor's Augusto Félix made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josué Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 11th minute, Sebastião Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Melhor's Ronaldão Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save El Melhor from getting a goal against them. When Chico Berger came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Pojuquinhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chico Berger couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, Augusto Félix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Josué Castro. Pojuquinhos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Félix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 20th minute Sebastião Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luizinho Freire during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Augusto Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Castro having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josué Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Augusto Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Castro having to interfere. Chico Berger's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldão Salgado firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Pojuquinhos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Melhor were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Nildo Massa made the kick off in the second half. Nildo Massa struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Ronaldão Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pojuquinhos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Massa in the 53rd minute of play forced El Melhor's goalkeeper Ronaldão Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Melhor's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josué Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pojuquinhos reached it. Augusto Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Castro having to interfere. Josué Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Falcão in the 93rd minute of the match. Sebastião Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over El Melhor could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pojuquinhos throughout the match.
