With a little luck, Mais ou Menos Bom FC's Marcos Baiano got control of the ball when Emerson Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Mais ou Menos Bom FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Enéas Arruda hit a great ball. Emerson Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mais ou Menos Bom FC's Adilson Vaz got a free kick in the 10th minute. Marcos Baiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Custódio Novaes's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Germano Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Athenas's Benjamim da Costa got a free kick in the 18th minute. Telmo Godoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jano Peixoto. Athenas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marcos Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Custódio Novaes in the 21st minute of the match. Custódio Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. William Ceresso hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamim da Costa during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 38th minute, Benjamim da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Baiano was a little too slow when Custódio Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Custódio Novaes was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Custódio Novaes in the 52nd minute of play forced Mais ou Menos Bom FC's goalkeeper Marcos Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anderson Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jano Peixoto having to interfere. Jano Peixoto was a little too slow when Germano Carioca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 1-1. The supporters of Athenas booed when Mais ou Menos Bom FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Benjamim da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Marcos Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Custódio Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After a rather tough play, Athenas's Joel de Senna got a free kick in the 89th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
