After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Gilberto Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caubi's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cacá Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caubi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaiba FC the free kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Itaiba FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
