The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Jequiazinho EC booed when Cascatinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Jequiazinho EC's Raí Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When Raí Costa came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Jequiazinho EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raí Costa couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Tibúrcio Quirino sped through Cascatinha's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Caio Mattos. Renatinho Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Hames having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raí Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Germano Hames didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oscar Guerra went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Germano Hames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Guerra in the 56th minute of play. Tibúrcio Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Jequiazinho EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 69 minutes into the match, Cascatinha's goalkeeper Caio Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tibúrcio Quirino. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raí Costa in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caio Mattos saved Cascatinha from getting behind. Renatinho Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cascatinha's zone, Raí Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caio Mattos came out of the goal and Raí Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute Renatinho Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Hames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cascatinha booed when Jequiazinho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Renatinho Braga sped through Jequiazinho EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Germano Hames.
