After 20 minutes of play, Verdao SC's Delfim Alvarenga made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Andrade was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Verdao SC booed when Juliana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinei Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Juliana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verdao SC the free kick. A collision led to Juliana getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Delfim Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Andrade having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Chicão Souto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudinei Andrade was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Chicão Souto took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinei Andrade. Claudinei Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alessandro Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chicão Souto was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Alessandro Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Décio Vargas hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Luís Eduardo Paranaense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Verdao SC's Claudinei Dante didn't even have to move. If Alessandro Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Alessandro Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeremias Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeremias Esteves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
