The wind increased when Tostão Pinho made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Horizonte Futebol Clube's zone, Faustão Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Sampaio came out of the goal and Faustão Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Sampaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Túlio de Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. When José Augusto Dias fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horizonte Futebol Clube's protests and gave José Augusto Dias a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Horizonte Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. José Augusto Dias hit a great ball. Ciro Sampaio came out of the goal and Faustão Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Macabuzinho were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
