The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Túlio Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petunia's protests and gave Túlio Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. Túlio Rosado hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Cristian Queirós suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to Petunia getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Fausto Salgado hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, ArsenaliS FFC's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Rosado came free, but Marcinho Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Petunia booed when ArsenaliS FFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. ArsenaliS FFC's Marcinho Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Vasconcelos in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes of play, Petunia's Fausto Salgado made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcinho Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Petunia's Lauro Cavalcante got a free kick in the 35th minute. Pedro Augusto Nogueira's late challenge caught a ArsenaliS FFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Augusto Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. Silas Netto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ismael Queiroz having to make a save. Silas Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ismael Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcinho Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Salgado went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Petunia's zone, Silas Netto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Queiroz came out of the goal and Silas Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silas Netto to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Rosado in the 52nd minute of play forced ArsenaliS FFC's goalkeeper Marcinho Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Simão Ferraz fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When Túlio Rosado was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 56 minutes had been played. In the 57th minute, Túlio Rosado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ArsenaliS FFC's Marcinho Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Salgado in the 60th minute of play. If Fausto Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When ArsenaliS FFC's Silas Netto in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pedro Augusto Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Mendes having to interfere. In the 86th minute of the match Lauro Cavalcante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcinho Mendes skillfully saved the ball. If Silas Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Petunia were victorious despite being under pressure from ArsenaliS FFC for much of the match.
