After 20 played minutes, Miroro's Felipe Paraibano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adelino Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Miroro reached it. Adelino Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Antunes's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Flavinho Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Donato Antunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miroro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Adelino Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Leonel Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Miroro were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Donato Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Silva having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavinho Alagoano in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaká Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute of the match Décio de Senna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adelino Silva skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Donato Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adelino Silva was relentless in the 58th minute of the game.
