Denílson Faria struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Fred Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canavial SS. Fred Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Onhapora's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Amorim came free, but Fred Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Onhapora getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gabriel Damião hit a great ball. The supporters of Canavial SS booed when Onhapora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Denílson Faria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Fred Galvão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the match, Onhapora's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Faria came free, but Fred Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Galvão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ezequiel Amorim's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Canavial SS's zone, João Pedro Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Onhapora's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Amorim came free, but Fred Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Canavial SS defense, João Pedro Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baltazar Britto. The Canavial SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltazar Britto should have stopped the shot. After the first half Canavial SS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denílson Faria to make the kick off. After 94 played minutes, Canavial SS's Mário Viana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fred Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Canavial SS reached it. The Onhapora supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Canavial SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Canavial SS.
