After 3 played minutes, Ibicacu SS's Tiaguinho Baiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giovanni Fantini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ibicacu SS reached it. Luisão Siqueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Umberto Soares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Anderson Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anderson Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 1-0 became the score in the 13th minute when Diego Messias elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Perivaldo de Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giovanni Fantini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Perivaldo de Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Umberto Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Pombal during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ibicacu SS booed when Baccada Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ibicacu SS's Umberto Soares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Ibicacu SS from getting a goal against them. Giovanni Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Messias in the 55th minute of the match.
