But to his dismay, Douglas Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Sakarias Wahlström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Carvalho in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Betão Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LosCaricas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sakarias Wahlström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Carvalho in the 23rd minute of play. Abate AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betão Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The referee showed Álvaro Diniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st minute, Natanael Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. LosCaricas's Benjamim Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Mazza in the 43rd minute of play. Sakarias Wahlström came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by LosCaricas's Bruninho Couto. But to his dismay, Bruninho Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 48th minute, Bruninho Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas Loyola to make the kick off. Benjamim Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute.
