Natã Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Montes Claros FC booed when Gados de Mais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Breckenfeld in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Natã Costa saved Gados de Mais from getting behind. After having played for 20 minutes, Alejandro Labuga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montes Claros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Labuga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iason Kappos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dida Breckenfeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natã Costa was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 26thth minute of the game Dida Breckenfeld who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gados de Mais's Natã Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan de Amorim got free with Iason Kappos in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes, Carl Arabo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montes Claros FC and the Gados de Mais players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, one of Montes Claros FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Montes Claros FC. Montes Claros FC:s Iason Kappos showed great skill when he stopped Lauro Albuquerque:s penalty. Gados de Mais were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Montes Claros FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lauro Albuquerque took the corner. Emerson de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Iason Kappos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorival Sergipano during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dorival Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Montes Claros FC's Dida Breckenfeld sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natã Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Gados de Mais's goal looked a bit too open when Gláuber Pinho came free, but Natã Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Gados de Mais players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Montes Claros FC were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dida Breckenfeld to strike the kick off in the second half. Gerson Marinho hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the match, Dida Breckenfeld notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Gados de Mais's Natã Costa. Iason Kappos came out of the goal and Emerson de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Emerson de Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Gados de Mais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson de Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Gados de Mais's Natã Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Breckenfeld in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Gados de Mais's goal looked a bit too open when Gláuber Pinho came free, but Natã Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Natã Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Breckenfeld in the 62nd minute of play. Gados de Mais's Natã Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Breckenfeld in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Jonathan de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iason Kappos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gláuber Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Dida Breckenfeld in the 77th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 82nd minute, Montes Claros FC's Dida Breckenfeld ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Natã Costa. Natã Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Dida Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute, Carl Arabo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montes Claros FC's Alfredão Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alejandro Labuga during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
