An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Teles in the 12th minute of play forced Damianopolis AD's goalkeeper Cléber de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damianopolis AD's Cléber de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Teles in the 14th minute of play. Paulinho Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Lopez having to interfere. The supporters of Damianopolis AD booed when Campo Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléber de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Teles in the 18th minute of play. Afonsinho Valladares made in the 19th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Romário Vinhas. Nando Cardoso made in the 25th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Paulinho Viana. Cido Bertassi took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cléber de Toledo. Cléber de Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to Damianopolis AD getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Romário Vinhas hit a great ball. Paulinho Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Lopez having to interfere. Afonsinho Valladares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Eduardo Lopez. Campo Verde FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half Campo Verde FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Paulinho Viana struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Luiz Eduardo Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Damianopolis AD. 58 minutes into the match, Damianopolis AD's goalkeeper Cléber de Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cido Bertassi. Cléber de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Teles in the 59th minute of play. Cléber de Toledo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Damianopolis AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Gernando Teles scored to the left of an out of position Cléber de Toledo, making the score, 1-4. Gernando Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Cléber de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléber de Toledo was a little too slow when Gernando Teles got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-5. Campo Verde FC's attentive Oséias Gaspar managed to snatch the ball when Nando Cardoso made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Teles in the 78th minute of play forced Damianopolis AD's goalkeeper Cléber de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Damianopolis AD defense, Gernando Teles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cléber de Toledo. The Damianopolis AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléber de Toledo should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Campo Verde FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
