In the 19thth minute of the game Frederico Cunha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Não Tem Como F.C.'s Richard Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pedro Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manfredo Machado having to make a save. Norberto Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manfredo Machado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Paulinho Andrade's late challenge caught a Santos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulinho Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Não Tem Como F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Não Tem Como F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Santos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Santos FC.
