Carapo EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundas Plakys was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florença Futebol Clube's Tarcisio Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundas Plakys in the 16th minute of play. Edmundas Plakys took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tarcisio Paiva. Tarcisio Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 21st minute when Edmundas Plakys elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Cesinha Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundas Plakys's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Egídio Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Tarcisio Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edmundas Plakys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee ignored Florença Futebol Clube's protests and gave Cacá de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Florença Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Carapo EC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Claudinei Moreira made the kick off in the second half. Edmundas Plakys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. But to his dismay, Edmundas Plakys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 61 minutes into the match, Florença Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tarcisio Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundas Plakys. Carapo EC's Edmundas Plakys got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Edmundas Plakys got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Zeca Senna sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carapo EC's Cipriano Dracena didn't even have to move. In the 79th minute, Florença Futebol Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edmundas Plakys fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Egídio Soares took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Tarcisio Paiva to make any attempt to save it. In the 84th minute, Edmundas Plakys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tarcisio Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Edmundas Plakys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Carapo EC played a much better game than Florença Futebol Clube and deserved their victory. The Florença Futebol Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
